This is another request from a friend, who shall remain nameless, who loves raw cookie dough. I’ve never been one to eat raw cookie dough and, quite honestly, I don’t understand it. But to each her own!
Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cupcakes from http://tidymom.net/2011/
This recipe is involved and takes some time. You’ll need to make the batter, the cookie dough filling (which also requires an hour in the frig) and the cookie dough frosting. Be sure to give yourself plenty of time.
The cupcake came out of the oven a beautiful golden brown, just like a chocolate chip cookie. The smell is heavenly and the taste… well, all I can say is YUM!!! This is one delicious cupcake; even on its own or maybe even with a different frosting, just to change things up.
The cookie dough was rather easy to make and does not use any eggs. Always a good thing when you’re not baking. Instead you use sweetened condensed milk. Once the cookie dough is refrigerated, you’ll cut out a portion of the center of the cupcake and fill it with the cookie dough. Can I just say, my favorite part was the bowl of cupcake centers!
Now I would have stopped here but the frosting intrigued me. It’s a Cookie Dough Frosting containing flour, along with your butter, sugars, etc. Are you as curious as I am?
Not being a fan of raw cookie dough, I opted to make half with the cookie dough filling and half without (these are for me). I personally liked the non-cookie dough filling cupcakes better. The cookie dough frosting is just perfect; no raw dough taste to it. I think the cookie dough filling eliminated too much of this delicious cupcake and overwhelmed it with the RAW dough taste.
This is definitely a keeper for the recipe stash.

Post Update: It’s agreed all around that the cupcake is perfectly delicious without the raw cookie dough center. It’s the Cookie Dough Frosting that makes it. I thought you could bake the cookie dough into tiny chocolate chip cookies to decorate the top of the cupcake instead.
